A short stint at Mumbai

"Mere dil me tere sason ko panah mil jaye
Tere ishq mein mere jaan fanaa ho jaye"

Awesome lyrics and awesome music are but a couple of things about the movie. And, sweet Kajol was looking va- va voom in the movie. Not to miss those killer smile she flashes on screen!!

Add to this combo your sweetheart who holds your hand in the talkies! You are living it then ! Right there right then, I did repeat those shayari lines to her !!

And my gal looks at me and stares as if i just spoke something in greek or latin!
;)

Anyways, it was fun..... the last weekend. It was my first trip to Mumbai.

If I had to describe all of it .... again would run into pages!! So no boring you ppl!

Heres just some pointers and tips to all u pple aspiring to go there:
  1. It simply is too humid and hot!! So forget those pictues of cool mumbai.
  2. You thought mumbai is a big city ... you are wrong ... its a huge city.... spread out like anything.
  3. You expected NY style skyline ... again, I didnt see any bldgs more than a couple of storeys high.
  4. The city has the wonderful JUHU beach.... get there and you will be wonderstruck, alrite, about why it is even called a good beach.
  5. MMTS... dont miss this one .... its like a fish market with cute looking gals dressed modern, but still practising pre jurassic manners !! Fishmongers would appear gentlemen and ladies in comparison.
  6. The travel charges are enormous.
  7. The only means of any time pass (other than for all the ladies dressed as though they are in their bathrooms) are malls .... Thousands of them!!!
  8. Good food (at least the kind of food you have once in a couple of days) / decent food comes at exorbitant rates.

I was a lil prejudiced abt the city, alrite. I had imagined the airport would be filled with all kinds of crooks packing off cocaine, marijuana and gold to all of India and even internationally. I thought auto rikshaw valas would be coldblooded criminals out on parole and such......

C'mon, how do I know anythin about Mumbai... after all, its the Dons city. The mafia, underworld waterworld or underwear.... I just dont know. All those creepy thing about Mumbai was all I knew.

So I kept my mouth shut most of the time, letting the gal do the talking (just in case i did give them the place I am put up ... And then when I am sleeping, those crooks come round and murder me and find I carry an empty purse , and that I have been living off her income for the weekend and such). But on my way back to the airport for the return , I spoke to the chap .... and he was more than friendly and nice.... we talked about his autorickshaw business ... this shop he was running ....the autos he owned that were running out on 'bhada' and things!

two things came to me very clearly :
  1. The man wasnt just talking .. he was painting his dreams in color at the mention of it.
  2. The guy was not too educated... but he had the spirit to grow and the urge and enthusiasm were evident.
  3. Yet his business was doing good.
  4. To think, I am still earning peanuts as compared to him. I always told my pop and mom I was sure education fetches nothing!!
Anyways it was fun ... had a nice time with everyone in mumbai. Met my sweet dewdy, my longtime pal rose, and a very humane nair (She is too busy to blog).

I have to thank a couple of people there ... Vijaychettan and Vargheese chettan. Awesome nice people. God bless you pple.

And then again we did meet a couple of nice pple there ....
One N S Varghese achan and
one pastor (dont know his name)

anyways thats it ... my small trip to mumbai!
